Job description
MJE is where young Jewish professionals in Manhattan find community, meaningful learning and lifelong friends. As Marketing Manager, you'll own how the world sees us: our Instagram, our emails, our flyers and the story we tell every week. You'll plan the content, create it, post it, and then walk into a packed Wednesday Night or Shabbat dinner and meet the people your work brought in the door.
This is a great job for someone with big ambition who wants to run a brand, not just post for one.
Why you'll love this role
Own the brand. You're the lead voice across social, email and print. Your ideas go live this week, not next quarter.
Grow fast. You'll work alongside our Program Director and a professional content partner, building strategy, design and analytics skills that set up the rest of your career.
See your results in the room. Every post and campaign shows up as faces at our events.
Be part of the community. This isn't a desk job behind a screen. You'll be at the events you're promoting.
A team that's leveling up. We're refreshing the MJE look to feel premium and playful, and you'll help shape it.
[Benefits: add health, PTO, holidays]
What you'll do
Run the content calendar. Plan monthly and weekly content for every class, Shabbat dinner, holiday, retreat and Israel trip.
Own our social media. Create and post Reels, carousels and Stories with a strong, consistent voice. Answer DMs and comments, and build relationships with partners and creators.
Run email campaigns. Write and send newsletters, event announcements, reminders and follow-ups in Constant Contact, and keep the lists clean and segmented.
Design the materials. Flyers, graphics, signage and other print and digital pieces that look sharp and on-brand.
Capture the moments. Take photos and video at events so we always have fresh content.
Support the Program Director. Turn program plans into campaigns that fill the room, and pitch in where the team needs you.
Measure and improve. Track reach, engagement, open rates and registrations, and use what you learn to make the next campaign better.
Work smarter with AI. Use AI tools to brainstorm, draft and speed up content without losing the human touch.
Keep the website current. Update event pages, registration links and photos.
You might be a fit if you
Have 1 to 3 years of work experience in marketing, social media, communications or a related role
Have enormous drive: you take initiative, own your work and don't wait to be told what's next
Think critically: you ask why, test ideas, read the numbers and adjust
Write with a voice people want to read, from a punchy caption to a warm email
Have real graphic design skills (Canva at minimum; Adobe is a plus) and a strong eye for what looks good
Understand the basics of AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude and how to use them in marketing
Stay organized and hit deadlines while juggling many campaigns
Are a true team player who's happy to jump in wherever it helps
Connect with Jewish life and community
