Job description
Job Description
Organization Overview
The Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Immunology is focused on dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing the generation of antibody specificity and the translation of that specificity into cellular responses. Our work seeks to identify the genetic components that initiate B cell activation upon antigenic challenge, the controls that maintain tolerance both centrally and in the periphery, and the mechanisms that govern the coupling of antibody specificity to effector cell response.
Overview
The Research Assistant will support research conducted at the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Immunology, working on projects that aim to develop and characterize the activity of engineered anti-inflammatory therapeutics, evaluating them in animal models of autoimmunity and chronic inflammatory diseases, as well as in projects related to immune responses to infection and vaccination.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Designing, expressing, and purifying recombinant proteins
Designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments
Analyzing and managing experimental data
Maintaining and screening of animal colonies
Performing related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in science
Willing to work with in vivo animal models (mice)
Ability to work as part of a team and conduct experiments in a diligent manner
Strong time management and organizational skills
Abiility to meet deliverables and deadlines
