Role Overview
The Manager, Marketing – Fragrance supports the North America business within the US Brand Marketing team, with responsibility for driving brand performance across the Mass Fragrance portfolio. With a strong focus on commercial performance and brand equity, the Manager partners closely with Integrated Marketing Communications, Trade Marketing, Sales, Education & Merchandising, and Global Marketing to bring strategies to life and support informed, data-driven decision-making.
The role is designed to provide clear ownership and accountability across the assigned portfolio, enabling focused channel management, agile decision-making, and executional excellence. Responsibilities include managing key elements of the Fragrance marketing budget, from annual planning and allocation through in-market investment decisions and ROI tracking.
Reporting directly to the Senior Marketing Director, the Manager will proactively identify opportunities, solve business challenges, and help shape strategy within the portfolio while ensuring strong alignment and continuity across key cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Business Ownership
Support development and execution of US marketing strategy within NA portfolio direction; from annual planning through in-market execution, with accountability for portfolio performance and business results.
Provide input and recommendations into key business decisions including brand positioning, portfolio health, and bringing a clear strategic point of view to business decisions and trade-offs.
Partner with senior leadership to develop and manage annual marketing plans, including budget allocation, channel priorities, investment choices, and ROI targets, while proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
Provide strategic leadership on pricing, forecasting, innovation pipeline, and new product feasibility for the allocated portfolio, making recommendations grounded in business performance and consumer insight.
Go-to-Market Execution
Lead the development and execution of 360° launch plans for the Mass portfolio, partnering with IMC cross-functional teams (Digital/Social, PR/Influencer, Media, E-commerce, Retail Experience) to ensure alignment to brand strategy and commercial objectives.
Manage key relationships with Trade Marketing and lead retail strategy recommendations that drive sell-through, proactively solve business challenges, and maximize in-market impact for the portfolio.
Lead cross-functional coordination with the Retail Execution team to ensure the brands are compellingly represented across fixtures and event activities, identifying and resolving risks proactively before they impact execution.
Own support for new door openings and retailer launches with bespoke Fragrance marketing programs tailored by channel, customer, and business need.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Become the Mass Fragrance category lead in cross-functional meetings and planning processes, representing the business with a clear point of view and informed recommendations.
Partner with Trade and Sales to execute retailer strategies by retailer and channel for the portfolio and align decisions to commercial priorities.
Own cross-functional alignment, proactively problem solve to remove barriers, and serve as a back-up for Senior Director when out or where needed to maintain continuity in decisions, priorities, and execution.
Consumer, Category & Competitive Intelligence
Conduct ongoing analysis of the US Fragrance competitive landscape in Mass, identifying threats, opportunities, and white space.
Leverage consumer insights, Circana data, and retail performance data to form a clear point of view, develop strategic recommendations, and proactively course-correct as needed.
Monitor portfolio performance against KPIs; synthesize findings into clear recommendations and present business implications and proposed actions to senior leadership.
Communicate US Mass Fragrance market needs to Global Marketing teams; ensure US requirements are reflected in global planning.
