POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the upkeep of the building. Clean and maintain all public areas by sweeping, wiping, vacuuming, mopping, shining or buffing.

Take out garbage on assigned days.

Remove trash/furniture and clean vacant beds/rooms.

Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Maintain the sidewalk, entrance, vestibule, and stairwells.

Upkeep Congregate Lounges, Meeting Rooms, Dining Room, and Kitchen area.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor/Building Manager and/or perform assigned maintenance tasks

Water tree pits and outdoor green areas.

Assist in the trouble-shoot/repair of mechanical, carpentry and electrical problems.

Report any maintenance concerns for repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Program Director.

Immediately report all unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor/Program Director.

Attends certification training and team meetings, as appropriate.

Attends job group meetings for building staff.

Maintains the smooth running and ongoing care of all the systems of the building (heating, hot water, electrical, air conditioning, ventilation, elevator, central fire station, etc.) as needed.

Regular, routine, and emergency maintenance sweeps. Daily/weekly/monthly inspections of various parts of the building.

Fulfill all duties of the Residential Aide when not performing assigned maintenance duties.

Perform all other custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school or GED, and two years experience in maintaining is preferred..

Experience in dealing with or managing building systems.

Sensitivity to issues involved in working in diverse organizations.

Knowledge, abilities, and skills in building maintenance.

Ability to work well with others and have schedule flexibility. Familiarity with a congregate building set up.

Ability to lift over 30 pounds, bend, squat climb stairs, move items, flexible mobility

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff and vendors.

Bilingual speaking is preferred.
