Job description

About TRIP:

TRIP’s mission is to create calm in the everyday chaos for our community, offering next-generation wellness products to power their lifestyle and nurture mental wellbeing.

Co-founders, husband and wife team Olivia and Daniel discovered plant-based wellness after a transformative personal experience and decided to launch TRIP in 2019 to bring the most delicious, highest quality functional drinks and supplements to millions of people globally.

Now the world’s #1 Calming Beverage Brand, TRIP’s award-winning drinks and wellness products are crafted with botanicals and adaptogens to help people relax, unwind and find balance. Since launch, TRIP has rapidly expanded from the UK to across Europe and North America, generating over $100 million in sales. TRIP products are now available in leading supermarkets, natural retailers and online.

Our vision is to become the global leader in calming drinks and supplements. Synonymous with calm in the same way Red Bull is with energy. We move fast, think big and are committed to becoming the defining brand for a generation who drinks less but prioritises mental wellbeing more than ever. There has never been a better time to join our incredible team and be part of the movement!

The Role:

You’ll own the People agenda for TRIP’s US business. Reporting to our Head of People in the UK, you’ll be a trusted partner to our US leadership team and founders, shaping how we organize, hire, grow and look after our people as we scale. You’ll be our only People team member in the US, supported by our global People team in the UK.

We’re building our People foundations as we grow, so you’ll be creating as much as running. It’s a broad role that combines strategy with hands-on delivery. Some days that means org design or coaching a leader through a team change. Other days it’s issuing a contract, welcoming a new hire or helping bring our next offsite to life.

What you’ll do

Leadership partnering and org design

Be the go-to People partner for our US leadership team, giving advice on people, team and organizational decisions.

Lead org design and workforce planning for the US as the business grows, making sure our structures support our commercial goals.

Shape and deliver the US People plan in line with our global People priorities.

People projects

Plan and deliver People projects that shape how the function grows, covering the fundamentals and going beyond them to make TRIP an exceptional place to work.

Bring fresh thinking and an outside-in view of what leading companies do, and help us set the standard rather than follow it.

Employment law and compliance

Own US employment compliance across federal, state and local requirements, keeping us current as we hire into new states.

Build and maintain US policies and processes that keep things simple and protect both the business and our people.

Know when to bring in specialist or legal advice, and manage those relationships.

Culture, engagement and employee relations

Champion TRIP’s culture across the US team, so it feels connected to the wider business.

Turn engagement insight into action, working with leaders on what will make the biggest difference.

Handle employee relations matters with sound judgement, fairness and discretion.

Talent

Partner with our Talent Partner on recruitment in the US, guiding leaders from scoping roles through interviewing and extending offers, applying local market expertise and employment regulations.

Own the US onboarding experience, making sure every new hire feels welcomed, set up to succeed and connected to TRIP from day one. You’ll work alongside our central administrator, who supports with onboarding and offboarding logistics.

Support development and learning initiatives for US team members and managers.

People operations

Manage the US employee lifecycle, including contracts, changes, life events and departures.

Own US data in our HRIS, keeping records accurate and producing reporting and insight as needed.

Look after US benefits administration and act as the main contact for our benefits providers.

Events and offsites

Help plan and deliver US offsites and team events, working with the wider team on logistics, travel and making sure the experience reflects who we are.

About You:

This role is for you if:

You have broad generalist HR experience, including time as the sole or most senior People professional for a business or region.

You know US employment law and best practice well, and you use that knowledge to find practical solutions that work for the business and our people.

You enjoy working closely with founders and senior leaders, and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve and ideas move quickly.

You’re energized by building things that don’t exist yet, and you know how to create just the right amount of structure for a growing business.

You bring commercial judgement and confidence to make good decisions, even when there isn’t a playbook.

You’re equally comfortable shaping a team structure and getting into the detail of an offer letter or HRIS update.

You build trust quickly, communicate clearly and work well with a remote manager and a team across time zones.

You have experience in a high-growth start-up or scale-up. CPG experience is strongly preferred.

You are happy to travel for the occasional US or global offsite and regional meetings.
