Responsibilities
Price, facilitate and execute large and complex single-name and ETF options transactions - including blocks, multi-leg strategies, collars, covered calls, overwrites, spreads and stock-option packages, using the appropriate exchange, auction and crossing mechanisms.
Provide competitive markets for institutional inquiries - and make disciplined decisions around pricing, risk, execution strategy and capital commitment.
Assume and actively manage options risk - across delta, gamma, vega, theta, skew and correlation, incorporating event, earnings, dividend, borrow and liquidity considerations.
Design and execute hedging strategies - using equities, ETFs and options while managing positions within established firm risk and capital limits.
Build relationships with institutional, broker-dealer and wealth-management options desks - and become a reliable liquidity provider for complex, difficult or size-sensitive transactions.
Partner with Wholesale Market Making sales and coverage teams - to grow client flow, improve win rates and expand wallet share.
Help shape the block-options business strategy - including target products, counterparties, risk appetite, capital deployment and exchange/execution workflow.
Partner with quantitative and technology teams - to strengthen volatility surfaces, theoretical pricing, execution, hedging and risk-management capabilities.
Work across Risk, Compliance, Legal and Operations - to support a scalable business operating within applicable regulatory and exchange requirements.
Measure business performance - across client inquiries, response and win rates, volumes, spread capture, hedging costs, P&L and return on capital.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of professional listed-options trading experience, preferably with a leading options market maker, bank, broker-dealer, institutional liquidity provider or high-touch options execution/facilitation business.
Deep expertise in listed-options pricing, volatility, skew, term structure and Greeks.
Demonstrated experience pricing complex transactions and managing meaningful options risk.
Strong knowledge of single-stock and ETF options markets, including exchange crossing, facilitation, auction and price-improvement mechanisms.
Strong quantitative judgment and the ability to make rapid risk and capital decisions with incomplete information.
Commercial mindset and credibility with sophisticated institutional counterparties.
Ability to partner effectively across trading, sales, quantitative, technology and risk teams.
Existing relationships with wirehouse, wealth-management, institutional or broker-dealer options desks are highly desirable.
