Job description
Responsibilities
Serve as the finance leader and primary financial business partner for the Enrollment & Verification business line.
Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario analysis, and financial modeling; develop assumptions, consolidate business inputs, analyze actual results against plan and forecast, and communicate material variances, risks, and opportunities.
Oversee financial reporting and close activities, including monthly close, annual close, audits, and management reporting.
Provide clear financial analysis, trend reporting, and recommendations to business leaders and executive stakeholders, including the CEO when appropriate.
Manage and provide financial oversight for a business of approximately $200 million in annual revenue.
Develop forecasts and performance models for a volume-driven business with transaction fees, third-party costs, and service delivery expenses.
Translate financial data into practical business insights and clearly explain the story behind the numbers.
Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve finance processes.
Improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of management reporting.
Partner with business leaders on investment decisions, resource planning, pricing, profitability, and business cases.
Establish and monitor internal controls for assets, capital investments, costs, liquidity, and financial reporting, and maintain effective financial governance across the Enrollment & Verification business line.
Lead, coach, and develop a finance organization of approximately 7 to 9 direct reports.
Delegate effectively while remaining actively involved in complex analysis, problem-solving, and key deliverables.
Build strong working relationships across finance, operations, and business leadership.
Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, continuous improvement, and learning.
Qualifications
The strongest candidates will bring a combination of broad finance leadership experience, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to work alongside the team.
Required Experience and Capabilities
Approximately 10 to 15 years of progressive finance experience, including significant experience supporting business operations.
Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Demonstrated P&L leadership or ownership within a complex business.
Experience overseeing financial reporting, monthly and annual close activities, and audit support.
Ability to identify trends, investigate financial issues, and uncover the underlying drivers behind business performance.
Experience presenting financial analysis and recommendations to senior executives.
Demonstrated ability to simplify reporting, improve processes, and introduce automation.
Strong business-partnering skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
Experience leading and developing finance professionals while remaining actively involved in the work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate proactively and make complex financial information understandable.
High level of accountability, integrity, and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within a services-based, transaction-driven, or high-volume business.
Experience managing financial models involving transaction fees, third-party costs, and service delivery costs.
Background in pricing, revenue recognition, accounting, controllership, business cases, or M&A analysis.
Experience working in an international or globally connected organization.
Experience with TM1, Anaplan, Microsoft Dynamics GP, or comparable financial planning and accounting systems.
CPA, MBA, or another relevant advanced credential.
Experience working with government contracts or program finance may be helpful but is not required.
