Job description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the therapy supervisor, implements treatment programs and organizes and conducts a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help clients regain physical or mental functioning and/or adjust to their handicaps.
EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS:
Four (4) year baccalaureate degree program accredited by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Registration by the State of Michigan as an occupational therapist.
Must possess a current State of Michigan driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
One (1) year of clinical experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May need to lift, carry, bend, stoop or be otherwise physically active in the normal course of job duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in the client's home which is an uncontrolled environment.
May be exposed to potentially infectious materials, bloodborne-disease pathogens and hazardous waste.
Drives to and from the clients' homes located in the Detroit Metropolitan area in varied weather and traffic conditions.
Must have reliable transportation and a telephone.
