Job description
Summary
Morgan & Morgan is the largest plaintiff’s law firm and legal media buyer in the country. Our Brooklyn office is the marketing backbone of the company, with the freedom to solve problems your own way and have the resources of an established company behind you.
The Marketing Strategy department is hiring a Marketing Manager who reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and owns marketing performance across dedicated personal injury litigation areas, including and not limited to: maritime, medical malpractice, nursing home and workers’ compensation.
Each of these areas reaches a different person, at a different moment, with a different path from first call to signed case. When results move, the cause might be the message, the media, or what happens after the phone rings. This role works out which it is, then works with creative, paid media, web, product, operations and intake to fix it.
This position is onsite 4 days/week in Brooklyn, Friday's remote.
What you will own:
Performance, end to end. Spend, cost per intake and conversion to signed case for your litigation areas. You own the outcome, not only the media line.
Diagnosis before spend. When an area underperforms, find out where in the funnel it breaks before recommending more or less money, and take the fix to the team that owns that step.
Testing. Write the hypothesis, agree how a test will be judged before it launches, and report what you learned, including when the answer is that it did not work.
Budget and forecast. Build the annual plan for your areas with the media planning team, track pacing monthly, and back any proposed change in spend with numbers.
Intake partnership. Share what marketing is sending intake, learn what comes back, and use it to improve both lead quality and volume.
Creative and messaging briefs. Tell creative who each area needs to reach and what should make them call.
Reporting to leadership. A regular readout that leads with the answer, shows the numbers, and says plainly what is still uncertain.
What success looks like
First 90 days: you can explain the funnel for each of your four areas, with numbers, and name the biggest problem in each.
First 6 months: a testing roadmap is running and the first results have been read out, whether positive or not.
First year: you own the plan and forecast for your areas, and leadership uses your readouts to make spend decisions.
Qualifications:
4+ years in marketing or digital media management, including direct accountability for a budget and an outcome metric such as cost per acquisition or cost per lead.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Hands-on analysis: you build your own reports and forecasts in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, scenario models). SQL or a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
Experience with both brand and direct response marketing, and an understanding of how they work together.
Judgment under uncertainty: you can make a call with incomplete data and say what would change your mind.
A record of moving work forward through people you do not manage, with clear communication and the presence to present to senior leaders.
Close attention to detail in numbers, briefs and plans.
Nice to have
Marketing in a regulated industry such as legal, healthcare, insurance or financial services.
Experience with call-driven or lead-generation funnels, where an intake or sales team sits between the ad and the outcome.
Planning across many local markets at once.
