Job description
We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager to join our Warehouse team in Newark NJ/NYC. You will focus on leading & overseeing a team of warehouse associates, inbound & outbound logistics. You'll work in an exciting and collaborative environment, surrounded by talented and motivated colleagues.
What You Will Focus On:
Leadership & Oversight: Manage and mentor a team of warehouse associates, including warehouse pickers and the box truck driver/packer. Provide clear direction, training, and feedback to maintain high operational standards and ensure seamless integration during peak periods.
Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring the accurate and timely flow of furniture and home furnishing products. This includes managing inventory, optimizing warehouse space, and ensuring stock accuracy across both the main warehouse and satellite warehouses at destination cities.
Delivery & Destination Coordination: Manage the box truck driver/packer and coordinate deliveries to satellite city warehouses. Ensure furniture is properly delivered, shelves are stocked with both pre-staged furniture and ad hoc items, and destination warehouse operations run efficiently.
Travel Requirements: There may be occasional travel required—typically on a quarterly basis—to satellite storage locations to oversee operations, ensure proper inventory management, and support local teams.
Hands-On Work: Load, unload, and stage large, heavy goods (furniture and parcels), pick orders with high attention to detail, and maintain organization using warehouse systems.
Quality & Safety: Ensure products are prepped and repaired with meticulous care. Uphold cleanliness standards and enforce Blueground’s safety policies and compliance with all legal regulations.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments to streamline operations, support delivery runs, and foster strong communication between teams—especially with satellite locations.
Decision-Making: Solve problems, make sound decisions, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and constantly evolving warehouse environment.
What you will focus on:
3+ years of experience in a warehouse lead or supervisory role managing hourly employees.
Proven experience overseeing delivery operations and managing warehouse teams, including drivers and pickers.
Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, logistics, and multi-location inventory coordination.
Effective communicator, comfortable delivering frequent direct written and verbal feedback.
Comfortable working with all levels of staff across locations.
Proficient computer skills (Google Workspace, Slack) and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and final mile delivery software.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills: ability to motivate, coach, and influence teams, with a focus on accountability and results.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting/moving heavy furniture and working at heights using warehouse ladders.
Experienced in operating pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
Bilingual is a plus (English, Spanish).
