Description
The carpenter follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of the clients. Installing structures and fixtures such as doors, frames windows, moldings etc. Construct building frameworks, repair of walls, ceilings and floors.

Requirements
Work directly with the Operations and Engineering Directors and staff on a daily basis.
Keep operations and Directors informed of status of repairs.
Measure, cut or shape wood , plastic and other materials.
Inspect and replace building framework or other structures and fixtures.
Repair and install but not limited to stairways, partitions, cabinets, siding, drywall etc. .
Install walls, floors ceilings, doors, doors frames, door hardware, trim, windows etc.
Shape and cut materials using the proper hand tools , Machines, power saws.
Keep boiler-rooms and related facilities, work areas clean and organized at all times.
Install and patch drywall as required.
Maintain proper Inventory and order material to perform work required.
Interact with outside contractors.
Be available for emergencies 24/7.
Adhere to all safety precautions as per OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma is required.
Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools, power tools, saws, drills etc.
Must be highly organized with great attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
Knowledge in use of hand held devices to open and close out work orders.
At least 3 years’ of hands on experience working as a carpenter.
Experience working in a campus environment preferred.
Strong relationship building skills, specifically able to build effective relationships with client management, other facility teams, client representatives, CBS staff and management.
Moderate lifting, Dependability, time management, independence, safety management, problem solving, analyzing information.
Experience in an union environment highly desired as well as experience following union protocol.
Proactively raises concerns and recommendations to management whenever possible.
Self-starter able to work with a high degree of urgency and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects at the same time.
Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
Desire to be successful and solution driven.
Able to work in a professional manner at all times and actively contributes to a positive work environment.
Able to work successfully in a team environment.
Able to prioritize work and elevate appropriately any obstacles or concerns.
Valid Driver’s License is required to be considered for this position.
