Position Summary

The Director of Credit Technology is a key member of the Aquarian team, responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the technology supporting our Credit Investment platform. This individual will build and support both user-friendly front-end applications and the back-end infrastructure that powers the investment process. Working closely with the investment team and business stakeholders, the Director of Credit Technology will help improve efficiency, solve technical challenges, and deliver technology solutions that support day-to-day investment activities. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and eager to learn the intricacies of the credit investment lifecycle.

This position requires deep expertise in full-stack software engineering and hands-on software development. You will work directly with Credit Investment professionals to deliver technology solutions that enhance workflows, improve productivity, and support investment operations.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and enhancement of a scalable technology platform that supports the Credit Investment team.

Develop and deploy AI-powered solutions that improve underwriting workflows, portfolio management processes, data analysis, and operational efficiency across the Credit platform.

Take an agile, iterative approach to software development, ensuring the platform evolves to meet business requirements.

Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly front-end interfaces for the Credit Investment team.

Build, maintain, and optimize back-end systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.

Partner closely with the Investment Team, middle-office, and back-office stakeholders to gather requirements and implement technology enhancements.

Independently troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex system issues.

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Design and build systems that prioritize scale, modularity, flexibility, performance, and reliability.

Maintain and enhance data integrations, reporting capabilities, and workflow automation tools that support the investment process.

Requirements

5-8+ years of full-time, hands-on experience in full-stack software engineering.

Advanced understanding of AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and emerging technologies, with the ability to develop and implement practical solutions that support business and investment processes.

Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Deep knowledge of server-side languages and frameworks (C#, .NET Framework, Web API, Node.js, etc.).

Strong expertise in modern front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.) and application frameworks.

Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications.

Familiarity with software development best practices, including code reviews, source control, builds, testing, deployment, and operations.

A background in finance or knowledge of credit markets is a plus, but not required.

Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and can independently manage multiple priorities.

Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Strong understanding and adherence to secure coding principles.
