Job description

As the Manager, you won't just oversee processes; you will own the client delivery, define operational excellence, and directly contribute to the scalability of a flagship product. You will combine deep industry knowledge of rebate economics and contract interpretation with a passion for turning messy data into clear, auditable answers for executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: Driving Results

Strategic Client Leadership & Delivery

Engagement Ownership: Serve as the primary, day-to-day lead for multiple client engagements, owning work scope, milestone execution, risk management, and the presentation of final, high-stakes findings to client and BlackPoint leadership.

Contract Translation: Translate nuanced contractual and formulary language into precise, testable validation rules, ensuring strict alignment with client Contracting and Gross-to-Net (GTN) teams on interpretation standards.

Formulary Operations & Quality Assurance

Service Line Management: Direct the operational intake and processing of Payer/PBM formularies, rigorously tracking changes to tiering and utilization management (PA, ST, QL, step edits) against client product portfolios.

Audit Trail Excellence: Guide and mentor Analysts in the consistent execution of evidence capture, creation of robust audit trails, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure service consistency and regulatory compliance.

Rebate Economics & Contract Compliance

Rebate Validation: Lead the critical function of validating formulary positioning against contracted rebate terms, directly supporting the creation and submission of defensible dispute packages.

Cycle Partnership: Partner closely with client Rebate Operations teams during quarterly cycles for invoicing, dispute file reconciliation, and true-ups, ensuring a traceable, auditable linkage from formulary evidence to invoice assumptions.

Technology, Data & Team Scaling

Automation Guidance: Collaborate with our Product/Engineering teams to guide the adoption of internal automation tools, define sampling plans, manage exception queues, and conduct root-cause analyses to maintain superior quality thresholds.

People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and staff a team of 3–5 consultants/analysts, overseeing weekly work allocation and fostering professional development within a high-growth environment.

What You Need to Succeed (Your Qualifications)

Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Market Access, PBM, or pharmaceutical manufacturer rebate/formulary operations, specifically focused on formulary compliance, UM interpretation, and rebate claim validation.

Core Expertise: Demonstrated, advanced ability to interpret complex contract language, align it to system-level rules, and provide clean, complete documentation to support invoice and dispute cycles.

Analytical Toolkit: Proficiency in Excel is required; working knowledge of SQL or Python for data manipulation is a significant asset.

Project Management: Strong, proven skills in multi-client project management, including scoping, risk logging, and high-stakes, executive-level communication.

Consulting Mindset: Exceptional soft skills, including hypothesis-driven problem solving, structured communication, and advanced stakeholder facilitation across legal, finance, and access teams.
