Job description
About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Product and Strategy Manager to join our growing team, someone who sits at the intersection of engineering, strategy, and AI-native product thinking. This is not a traditional product role. We want a builder and a strategist: someone who understands systems deeply and has sharpened their thinking in a demanding consulting environment. You will work closely with our Tech Lead to help coordinate a small team of developers: you own the what, why, and when, and engineering owns the how and the deploy. You will own our product roadmap end-to-end, drive AI integration across Atlas, our proprietary lending platform, and bring a forward-thinking, first-principles approach to every initiative. If you’ve gone from consultant → operator → strategist, or some permutation thereof, we want to talk.
Duties and Responsibilities
Define and own Dwight Funding’s AI product strategy, identifying high-leverage opportunities to embed AI/ML into underwriting, client workflows, and internal operations; engineering owns the architecture
Own the product roadmap and backlog with a bias toward measurable business impact; set release priorities and make the go/no-go call on each release together with the Tech Lead
Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; bridge the gap between engineering reality and business need
Bring good taste and a strong point of view on UX/UI; you hold a high bar for clean, intuitive product experiences and can defend design decisions with clear reasoning
Partner directly with engineers - you understand their world and can go deep on technical architecture, APIs, and data pipelines when needed
Own acceptance testing on PR preview environments and sign off on release candidates with rigor and speed
Identify, prototype, and evaluate AI tools and workflows (LLMs, automation, intelligent data extraction) to enhance platform capabilities
Define and track key product KPIs; use data to continuously sharpen prioritization and strategy
Apply structured problem-solving and frameworks to ambiguous challenges, from competitive positioning to build-vs-buy decisions
Translate complex platform capabilities into clear narratives for clients, investors, and non-technical stakeholders
Represent Dwight Funding in the fintech and AI product community
About You
Technical fluency required: you understand the fundamentals of coding, data systems, and UX/UI design; you can review technical specs and architecture diagrams and are comfortable partnering closely with engineers; fintech experience preferred
Hands-on with code: you use Claude Code day to day, push code yourself, and can read a diff or pull request and explain what it changes
Consulting pedigree preferred: experience at a top-tier strategy or consulting firm (such as McKinsey, Deloitte, BCG, or Bain) or a comparable firm where you developed structured thinking, executive communication, and the ability to operate across ambiguous, high-stakes environments
AI-native mindset: you actively use AI tools in your daily workflow, have experience integrating LLMs or ML models into products, and think instinctively about where AI creates leverage
4–8 years of combined experience across engineering, consulting, and/or product roles; we care more about the depth of your experience than the exact sequence
Hands-on experience with Asana, Figma, GitHub (pull requests, Actions/CI results, preview builds), Claude Code, Box, Google Suite or equivalent tooling
Strong command of iterative product development - you know how to move fast, ship, and keep cross-functional teams aligned with lightweight process and a predictable release rhythm
Exceptional analytical and communication skills; you can go from a data model to a board-ready slide and back
Thrives in fast-paced, small-team environments where ownership is total and ambiguity is the norm
Bachelor’s degree required; backgrounds in business, finance, technology, or a quantitative field preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
