Responsibilities
Partnerships & Growth
Develop relationships with synagogues, JCCs, Federations, museums, educational institutions, and other Jewish and communal organizations.
Identify and cultivate partnerships that introduce Melton World Travel to new communities and audiences.
Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners and new opportunities that help grow the number of annual travel programs and participants.
Represent Melton World Travel at select conferences, community events, and partner meetings.
Marketing & Engagement
Collaborate with Melton’s Communications team and digital marketing partners on campaigns that build awareness and drive registration.
Develop compelling content highlighting destinations, Jewish heritage, educators, local communities, and traveler experiences.
Curate traveler stories, testimonials, photography, and videos that bring the Melton Travel experience to life.
Identify new audiences and creative opportunities to expand Melton World Travel’s reach.
Educational & Program Development
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs to develop new educational travel programs and destinations.
Research and identify distinctive Jewish, historical, cultural, and educational experiences.
Help shape learning experiences that extend before, during, and after each journey, including source materials, primary texts, digital readers, and destination-specific Companion Guides.
Identify and recruit outstanding historians, scholars, rabbis, archaeologists, journalists, authors, and other subject-matter experts.
Work with educators to ensure programs reflect Melton’s commitment to intellectually rich, text-based Jewish learning.
Trip Leadership & Traveler Engagement
Serve as a Melton group leader on selected domestic and international educational travel programs.
Build relationships with travelers before departure and foster a strong sense of community throughout each journey.
Partner with educators, guides, and local experts to support the educational and communal experience on the ground.
Strengthen post-trip engagement, encouraging continued participation in Melton World travel and learning and building a community of repeat travelers and lifelong Melton learners.
Qualifications
Must reside in North America
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years’ experience in Jewish education and/or travel. Exceptional relationship building, communication, and sales skills.
Strong knowledge of the North American Jewish communal landscape and familiarity with Jewish organizations and institutions.
Passion for Jewish learning, educational travel, and creating meaningful experiences for adult learners.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
A strategic, creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial approach to developing new opportunities.
Comfortable working with scholars, educators, communal leaders, travelers, and external partners.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally and serve as a group leader on selected Melton Travel programs.
