Job description

About Jewish Leaders Network
The Jewish Leaders Network (JLN) is a growing community of Jewish leaders committed to connection, learning, and collective impact. As JLN enters its next chapter of growth, we are building the internal infrastructure and external presence needed to deepen member engagement, strengthen grantee relationships, and scale our reach while staying true to the relational, community-first culture that defines who we are.

Position Overview
JLN is seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven Manager of Community and Engagement to serve as the operational and communications coordinator of the organization. This is a role for someone who thrives on running day-to-day operations, building genuine community, and sharing JLN's story to existing and potential stakeholders and partners.

The Community and Engagement lead will report to the Founder to execute a growth strategy, helping to expand JLN's membership base, deepen grantee relationships,. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter who is energized by building something new, someone who can bring structure and creativity in equal measure, and who genuinely enjoys the work of connecting people to one another and to a shared mission.

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations

Own and manage JLN's daily operations, ensuring programs, communications, and member touchpoints run smoothly and on schedule

Develop and maintain systems, processes, and tracking tools (calendars, project trackers) to keep the organization organized and scalable

Support logistics for events, convenings, and member programming from planning through execution

Community Building

Serve as a primary relationship point for JLN members, ensuring each member feels seen, valued, and connected to the network

Design and manage touchpoints that deepen member engagement - check-ins, welcome experiences, recognition moments, and peer-connection opportunities

Build and steward relationships with grantees, ensuring strong communication, clear expectations, and a sense of partnership throughout the grant lifecycle

Identify opportunities to strengthen community cohesion and bring members and grantees closer to JLN's mission

External Communications

Oversee and execute JLN's external communications strategy and execution, including newsletters, social media, website content, and member/grantee-facing materials

Craft compelling messaging that reflects JLN's voice and mission to a range of audiences - members, grantees, funders, and the broader community

Manage JLN's presence across digital platforms, ensuring consistency, quality, and timeliness

Growth Strategy & Fundraising

Partner directly with the Founder to implement a year-over-year growth strategy for membership, programs, and organizational capacity in support of our JLN community and our nonprofit ecosystem.

Help implement a fundraising strategy, including identifying prospects, supporting donor communications, and tracking progress toward goals

Bring an innovative, entrepreneurial mindset to identifying new opportunities for growth and sustainability

Who You Are
A self-starter who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and doesn't wait to be told what to do next

Innovative — you bring fresh ideas and aren't afraid to build new systems or approaches where none exist

Exceptionally organized, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders without dropping the ball

An excellent relationship builder who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and can build trust quickly across a diverse community

A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with an eye for tone and audience

Comfortable working in a small, evolving organization where roles shift and responsibilities expand as the organization grows

Passionate about Jewish community, leadership development, and/or nonprofit impact (preferred, not required)

Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in program management, operations, communications, or community engagement, ideally within a nonprofit, membership organization, or mission-driven environment

Demonstrated experience managing external communications (newsletters, social media, website content)

Experience supporting or leading fundraising efforts is a strong plus

Ability to work independently and take ownership while collaborating closely with a Founder/small team
