About This Job

As a Marketing Strategy Consultant I on Dutchie's Solutions team, you will be the driving force behind unlocking the full value of Dutchie's Loyalty & Marketing product for our customers.

Loyalty & Marketing is Dutchie's best-in-class solution for helping dispensaries turn one-time shoppers into lifetime customers — combining loyalty program management with integrated SMS, MMS, and email marketing tools, all natively built into the Dutchie platform.

Many dispensaries have already purchased Loyalty & Marketing but have barely scratched the surface of what it can do for their business, and are often leaving significant GMV and messaging revenue (SMS, MMS, email) on the table. Your job is to change that.

You'll use reporting and data tools to proactively identify which customers have the greatest untapped opportunity for growth, then partner closely with Customer Success and Account Management to get in front of those accounts. Once engaged, you'll roll up your sleeves — not just advising on marketing strategy, but hands-on helping customers configure the platform, build campaigns, and set up workflows correctly. You'll review customer data, demographics, market trends, competitive dynamics, and state regulations to help each account launch a marketing strategy that performs, spanning SMS, MMS, and email, and grounded in strong loyalty program fundamentals.

This isn't a "set it and forget it" engagement. You'll stay close to the account through launch, review performance, and iterate on the strategy until adoption, messaging revenue, and retention are clearly trending in the right direction — then hand the customer a playbook and SOPs they can run with going forward. This proactive engagement is also a key lever in reducing churn among underengaged, at-risk accounts. Along the way, you'll be one of our most important sources of voice-of-customer intelligence, feeding real field insight back to our Product team.

What You'll Do…

Opportunity Identification & Prioritization

Proactive Account Sourcing: Use reporting tools (Hex or similar BI/data tools) to analyze usage, performance, and GMV data across the Loyalty & Marketing customer base and identify accounts with the greatest opportunity for improved adoption and revenue lift.
Prioritization: Continuously triage and rank opportunities so your time — and your Customer Success and Account Management partners' time — is focused on the accounts with the most upside.
Customer Marketing Strategy & Enablement

Consultative Diagnosis: Review each account's customer data, demographics, local market trends, competitive landscape, and state-specific regulations to shape a tailored marketing strategy.
Campaign Strategy: Advise customers on what campaigns to run, who to target, when to run them, and how to use SMS, MMS, and email effectively together as part of a cohesive strategy.
Hands-On Technical Enablement: Go beyond high-level advice — directly help customers configure the platform, build campaigns, and set up workflows correctly so they can execute their strategy without friction.
Loyalty Program Optimization: Bring a strong point of view on what makes retail loyalty programs successful, and help customers structure programs that build repeat, lifetime customers.
Playbook Development: Build SOPs and marketing playbooks tailored to each customer, so they have a durable, repeatable process to run independently once you hand off.
Performance Reviews: Stay engaged with customers post-launch, reviewing campaign and adoption performance and iterating on strategy until results are clearly improving.
Cross-Functional Partnership

CS & AM Collaboration: Partner closely with Customer Success Managers and Account Managers to coordinate outreach, align on account context, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
Product Feedback Loop: Serve as a consistent voice-of-customer channel, surfacing product feedback, feature gaps, and trends from the field to Dutchie's Product team.

What You Bring…

2-4 years of experience in retail marketing, digital marketing, customer marketing, or marketing consulting — B2B SaaS, martech, or customer success experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience using a marketing technology platform to manage and run SMS, MMS, and email campaigns — you should be comfortable working directly inside a platform (building campaigns, segmentation, workflows), not just advising from the outside.
A solid understanding of data-driven marketing and general marketing optimization best practices — segmentation, targeting, campaign timing/cadence, and performance measurement.
Familiarity with retail loyalty programs and what separates a sophisticated, high-performing program from a basic one.
Comfort working with data and reporting tools to independently identify trends and prioritize opportunities (e.g., Hex, Looker, Tableau, or similar).
Strong consultative instincts — comfortable reviewing a customer's data and market context and translating it into a clear, actionable strategy.

Key Competencies

Proactive & Self-Directed: You don't wait to be told which accounts need help — you go find them and bring a plan.
Consultative Communicator: Able to build credibility with customers quickly and translate data into a compelling, actionable story.
Organized Execution: Comfortable managing multiple customer engagements at once, from initial strategy through performance review and handoff.
Cross-Functional Collaborator: Works naturally with Customer Success and Account Management to deliver a coordinated customer experience.
Adaptable Marketer: Able to tailor strategy to different markets, regulatory environments, and customer sophistication levels.

Logistics

This is a remote, individual-contributor role reporting to the Director, Solutions.
Travel: approximately 15%, primarily for customer visits and internal team gatherings.

It's a Bonus if You…

Have prior experience running marketing campaigns for cannabis retail operators.
Have deeper product/functional experience specifically with Dutchie's Loyalty & Marketing product.
Have experience building or scaling SOPs/playbooks for customer-facing teams.
