Job description

Job Overview

Mejuri is looking for a seasoned editorial leader to partner with our Creative team in a fractional, advisory capacity. This isn't a day-to-day role. You'll join us on a recurring cadence, flexing with the needs of the business. In each session you'll mentor our writers, help shape the story arcs behind upcoming campaigns and launches, and give senior editorial review on slated content.

You bring an outside perspective and a sharp editorial eye, grounded in deep experience building brand voices in fashion, jewelry, beauty or lifestyle. You know how to walk into a room, understand where the work is headed, and leave the team with clearer ideas, stronger craft and more confidence than when you arrived

What you'll do

Act as a voice sounding board. Help the team pressure-test how the Mejuri voice is evolving across channels and markets, and where it could be sharper or more distinctive.
Bring an outside lens. Share what you're seeing in fashion, culture, language and media, and what that means for how Mejuri shows up.
Shape story arcs. Partner with the team on the narrative direction for upcoming campaigns, collection launches, collaborations and seasonal moments, so each story holds together from first idea to final execution.
Strengthen messaging hierarchy. Help the team turn brand and business priorities into clear messaging structures that connect our positioning to what the customer cares about.
Guide product storytelling and naming. Advise on narratives and names for key collections, signature pieces and launches, bringing craft, materials, design and wearability to life.
Coach concepting from the brief. Work with writers to find several strong creative routes to a single brief, building the habit of iterating before landing on an answer.
Review slated content. Give senior editorial review on upcoming high-visibility work across campaigns, site, CRM, social and retail. Push for integrated ideas where copy and visuals work as one, and give clear direction on how to elevate the work.
Balance brand and performance. Help the team read customer and performance insights alongside the work, so they can apply what's resonating without diluting the voice.
Mentor the Copy team. Run recurring working sessions with our writers, give candid feedback, and build their capability in concepting, storytelling, editing and voice.
Strengthen the tools. Contribute to voice guidelines, messaging frameworks and naming principles so the team has what it needs between sessions.
Advise on process. Share perspective with Creative Operations on briefing and review practices that help the team run efficiently at volume.
Stay flexible. Adjust the cadence and focus of engagements around business priorities, including heavier involvement during peak moments like BFCM and holiday if needed.
What you'll bring to the team

10+ years in copywriting, editorial or brand creative roles, including senior leadership of a brand's voice. Fashion, jewelry, beauty, lifestyle or editorial experience is strongly preferred.
Proven experience mentoring and developing writers at different stages of their careers.
Strong narrative instincts: the ability to build story arcs across campaigns, launches and channels.
A sharp, generous editorial eye, with feedback that is direct, specific and actionable.
A portfolio showing exceptional writing, concepting, product storytelling and brand-building work.
A strong grasp of fashion, retail, culture and the customer, and of how brand building and commercial results work together.
Experience working in a fractional, consulting or advisory capacity, with a track record of driving impact without being embedded day to day.
The ability to get up to speed quickly, build trust with a team, and make the most of limited time together
We're building an AI-fluent organization. We welcome candidates at all stages of their AI journey โ€” what matters is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an openness to working alongside AI tools as part of how we do our best work.
