Job description
AECOM is hiring a Structural Engineer to join their New York based office.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural design and analysis for various building types, including commercial, government, and transportation structures.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Prepare and coordinate Revit BIM models, ensuring integration with other disciplines' 3D models.
Provide technical guidance to graduate engineers and conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews and prepare technical specifications.
Manage project budgets and schedules with minimal supervision, proposing solutions to new challenges.
Coordinate with in-house engineering disciplines and conduct peer reviews as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus two (2) years of related experience in the structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
Must be able to perform site visits to observe construction activities and/or prepare condition assessment reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc.
Revit experience is highly desirable.
Masters in Structural Engineering.
Three (3) years of professional Structural Engineering experience.
