Director of Clinical Reimbursement

Long Island, NY | $200K–$300K DOE

A growing multi-facility nursing home operator is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Reimbursement to lead clinical reimbursement and MDS strategy across its portfolio.

This is a key leadership role for an accomplished reimbursement professional who combines deep MDS expertise with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Director will oversee corporate reimbursement operations, support facility teams, and work closely with senior leadership to drive reimbursement performance, accuracy, compliance, and consistency across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical reimbursement and MDS operations across multiple skilled nursing facilities.
  • Oversee and develop the corporate MDS/reimbursement team.
  • Drive strong reimbursement performance across Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance across MDS assessments, coding, documentation, and reimbursement processes.
  • Monitor facility performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner closely with clinical, operational, and facility leadership to address reimbursement challenges and implement solutions.
  • Establish consistent processes and best practices across facilities.
  • Provide hands-on guidance, education, and support to reimbursement teams.
  • Develop team members while creating strong accountability and follow-through.
  • Communicate reimbursement trends, challenges, and opportunities effectively to senior leadership.
  • Maintain an active presence within facilities and work collaboratively with teams in the field.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required.
  • Extensive MDS and clinical reimbursement experience within skilled nursing/LTC.
  • Strong multi-facility reimbursement experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, MDS, coding, and clinical documentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working closely with both facility-level and senior corporate leadership.
  • Must be able to work on-site within the New York/Long Island market and travel regularly to facilities.
