BOOKKEEPER / ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Position Overview

Fame on Central, a multi-location retail business, is seeking a motivated and dependable Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting. We need someone with strong hands-on QuickBooks Online experience who does more than enter transactions: someone who reconciles accounts, investigates discrepancies, and follows open items through to resolution.

Responsibilities

1. Bank and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online, resolving differences and keeping transactions accurately classified.
2. Accounts payable: enter and verify vendor bills, monitor vendor balances, confirm payments are applied, and resolve duplicates, credits and unapplied payments.
3. Accounts receivable: apply payments, review AR aging, follow up on open balances, and resolve discrepancies.
4. Inventory reconciliation in Shopify, working with the team to find and correct differences.
5. Recurring and ad-hoc reports from QuickBooks Online, Shopify and Excel, including reconciling large data sets.
6. Other accounting tasks and special projects as they arise.

Qualifications

1. Strong hands-on QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel skills (required).
2. Experience with AP, AR and account reconciliations, and a solid grasp of bookkeeping principles.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies independently.
4. Organized, detail-oriented self-starter who follows through, and a team player.
5. Shopify and retail or multi-location experience are a plus.
