Job description

The Jewish Federation of Madison seeks a creative, dynamic Community Relations Director to lead its antisemitism response and advocacy efforts, build strong civic and interfaith partnerships, and expand opportunities for education and community engagement. The position is additionally supported by the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and includes specialized training, professional development, and participation in a national cohort of community-relations professionals. Responsibilities: • Serve as a primary local point of contact on antisemitism, anti-Zionism, and anti-Israel activity affecting Jewish individuals and institutions • Monitor, track, and report local and statewide antisemitic incidents, and support individuals, families, schools, and institutions navigating them • Provide or coordinate antisemitism education and training for K-12 schools, universities, employers, and community organizations, partnering with J·Hub and the Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center • Serve as liaison to the Wisconsin Jewish Security Network and collaborate with Secure Community Networks and law enforcement • Build relationships with elected officials, interfaith leaders, and civic and business leaders across Madison and Dane County • Engage and support Community Relations Committee members and develop interfaith programs, candidate forums, and educational events • Monitor policy developments, develop advocacy strategies, and participate in related fundraising Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in public policy, government, Jewish studies, communications, social work, or a related field a plus • 3+ years of experience in community relations, public or government affairs, advocacy, public education, or nonprofit leadership preferred • Strong understanding of contemporary antisemitism, Jewish communal priorities, Israel advocacy, and Zionism • Excellent written, verbal, and public-speaking skills; familiarity with Dane County's civic landscape strongly preferred • Able to attend occasional evening and Sunday meetings; reliable transportation required Salary: $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
