We’re looking for someone like that who can:
• evaluate counterparty credit risk based on analysis of both quantitative and qualitative factors, including fundamental credit analysis, in order to recommend internal ratings, LGD and credit limits
• assess counterparty exposure and evaluate transactional risks associated with OTC derivatives (fixed income and equities), securities financing, exchange traded derivatives, banking products and structured transactions
• hold delegated personal authority (within established risk-based limits) to approve new positions or to make recommendations to higher authority levels within Credit. The candidate will be expected to interact with the business units in relation to transactions to ensure the risk fit UBS's ultimate appetite in the sector
• prepare, as well as review and approve, written counterparty annual reviews/transactional credit proposals drawing conclusions relating to credit assessment, risk appetite, exposure drivers and business prospects
• lead trading documentation negotiation including ISDA/CSA, Prime Brokerage and Repo Agreements – ensure all regulatory requests, audit items and operational risk issues are dealt with in a disciplined, timely and efficient manner
• perform ad hoc credit risk analysis and participate in portfolio reviews to identify risk developments or concentrations

The team

You will be working in the Financial Institutions and Corporate derivatives team in the Americas region aligned with the Investment Bank. This role is responsible for the credit assessment, monitoring, control and transaction decision approval of UBS's counterparties. You will serve as a Credit Officer focusing on quantitative risk assessment of transactions and financial institutions counterparty credit analysis

Your skills and experience

• bachelor's degree or international equivalent, preferably in accounting, finance, economics or mathematics and a MBA/CFA preferred
• ideally 7-10 years of experience and demonstrated expertise in a similar position or related financial services position
• extensive working knowledge of financial institutions and related products
• established quantitative risk analysis skills employed in a credit risk, market risk or trading environment
• experience leading due diligence meetings and analyzing banks, brokers and insurance counterparties
• a deep knowledge and understanding of financial markets and a breadth of trading and lending products.
• extensive experience with common trading documentation, particularly ISDA/CSA, Prime Brokerage and Repo Agreements
• excellent communication skills, with ability to engage directly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
• ability to foster cooperation, influence stakeholders and encourage teamwork across global business divisions
• fluent in English (fluent verbal and strong English writing skills)
