Job description

Position Overview:

A rapidly growing healthcare management company is seeking a talented and proactive full-time Senior Accountant to join its expanding accounting team.

This individual will work closely with the entire accounting team and play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and maintaining accurate financial statements across a growing portfolio of assisted living facilities.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment coming from an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similarly hands-on accounting background. Candidates should be capable of quickly learning the business with minimal healthcare industry-specific training, relying on strong accounting fundamentals and prior experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, intercompany, fixed asset, prepaid, accrual, and other general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and record all accounting entries outside of day-to-day AP and AR processing, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, intercompany transactions, amortization, reclasses, and other adjusting journal entries
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for the accounting department, ensuring AP, AR, Staff Accounting, and Payroll functions provide complete, accurate, and timely financial information
  • Review accounting activity across the department, identify errors, omissions, unreconciled items, and process gaps, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and identify issues, trends, and areas requiring management attention
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, audits, and other financial reporting requirements
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, workflows, and reporting procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist with acquisitions, integrations, entity consolidations, and special projects while serving as a senior accounting resource within a growing accounting department

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is a plus)
  • Strong experience preparing financial statements and performing account reconciliations
  • Proven experience with accrual accounting, prepaids, journal entries, and month-end close activities
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain detailed schedules
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
  • Team leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Prior experience in an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similarly hands-on role within a growing organization strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $120,000-$190,000+ (based on experience)
  • Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding healthcare organization
  • Collaborative and team-oriented accounting department
  • Significant career advancement opportunities as the company continues to scale

About the Employer:
