Description
Reporting directly to the University Director of Student Accounts, the Assistant Director of Student Accounts, Systems & Reconciliations facilitates the enrollment and retention of Pace University students. Cross-functional service is provided to prospective, current, and former students, as well as other University constituents through direct services in the area of Student Accounts Office responsibilities, and supportive services in the area of financial aid awarding and packaging. Student Accounts Office direct responsibilities include Billing & Payment, Immunization Compliance, and New York State Financial Aid.

The Assistant Director of Student Accounts, Systems & Reconciliations works closely with and often receives guidance from the Bursar and Associate Director of Student Accounts. Together they ensure business continuity of Bursar functions.

Position Duties

Maintains office webpages and AI-enabled services.
Ensures student communications are delivered according to established timelines.
Performs reconciliations as required, including daily cashiering, federal and state audits and cycle closings.
Analyze large datasets from student information, financial systems to identify trends, support decision-making, and improve institutional effectiveness.
Assists in developing and documenting department policies and procedures. Analyzes and recommends system solutions to streamline processes.
Assists in maintaining student information system and integrate services with other operations within university.
Assist in maintaining third-party systems including payment processing tools.
Assist in maintaining business continuity of Bursar functions.
Use investigation, professional judgment, and individual discretion to handle complex issues.
Communicates effectively with other student-facing areas, including academic advisors, school/college administration, and other departments to gather and share information, ensure seamless cross-functional service to students, and as necessary, advocates for students in the resolution of issues.
Works closely with the University Director to develop and deploy data and analytics solutions that continuously improve efficiency in operations.
Assists with the collection of data and preparation of reports to support data-driven decision-making.
Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience using AI tools desired.
Experience in applying regulations such as FERPA required.
Ability to respond to customers quickly, accurately and congenially.
Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship management skills with the proven ability to work in a matrix environment across functional lines.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and leadership skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of cash management principles.
Demonstrated skills in administrative control and fiscal responsibility.
Commitment to achieving results through knowledge, empathy and commitment to excellent customer satisfaction.
