Position Overview

A growing retail and e-commerce organization is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to join its accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, reconciling vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and partnering with internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Process day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions from entry through payment and collection
  • Reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, billing issues, and payment exceptions
  • Reconcile vendor statements and account balances
  • Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accounting files and records remain organized and audit-ready
  • Partner with buyers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve invoicing and payment concerns
  • Monitor account activity and identify irregularities, discrepancies, or outstanding issues
  • Support special projects, reporting initiatives, and process improvement efforts
  • Assist with additional accounting and finance functions as needed


Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience
  • Experience reconciling vendor accounts and resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions
  • Experience working with ERP systems or accounting software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes
  • Accounting, Finance, or Business degree preferred but not required
  • Desire to build a long-term career in accounting and grow into a Staff Accountant role
