Lower School Monitor

Days and Hours

Mondays-Fridays, from 7:30 am-3:25 pm, when school is in session

Responsibilities:

Support with the arrival and dismissal of students, ensuring a safe and efficient entry and exit from the building each day.
Support with supervision in the yard, student lunch, and early bird, maintaining a safe and joyful environment.
Monitor child care for employees on Professional Days
Communicate proactively and professionally with teachers and other school staff.
Follow and uphold all School policies and procedures related to student safety, supervision, and appropriate boundaries.
Monitor students in additional spaces as needed.

Required Skills:

Prior experience working in a school or with Lower School-aged children preferred.
Ability to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Calm and professional under pressure, particularly when managing last-minute changes, emergencies, or busy school routines.
Ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with teachers, families, and support staff.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
Ability to establish appropriate boundaries and uphold School expectations with kindness, fairness, and consistency.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems calmly and effectively and make thoughtful, appropriate decisions.
Comfort with and ability to be outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students.
