Job description

POSITION DETAILS

Queensborough Community College seeks a Career and Industry Partnerships Data Manager to support the college's implementation of CUNY Beyond, the University's five-year career success strategy that integrates career preparation, work-based learning, and employer engagement across all undergraduate degrees. CUNY Beyond aims to connect 180,000 New Yorkers to careers by 2030, triple the number of students in paid internships, increase employer recruitment of CUNY graduates by 20%, and ensure that 80% of graduates secure at least a year of consistent employment at a living wage.

The Career and Industry Partnerships Data Manager will build and maintain the data infrastructure, labor market intelligence, and outcome reporting needed to guide QCC's CUNY Beyond implementation, inform curricular and advising decisions, and document progress toward college and University targets. The Data Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to CUNY Central partners, campus constituents, and external organizations, to capture, share, and analyze data and KPIs that guide CUNY’s progress toward strategic goals.

The position will report primarily to the Assistant Vice President, who will provide overall supervision and direction. The Dean of Institutional Effectiveness will provide functional supervision and guidance for responsibilities related to institutional effectiveness, assessment, data, and related initiatives. The role also supports alignment with the college's strategic plan, the CUNY Performance Management Process (PMP), and the evidence requirements for regional and programmatic accreditations.

Serve as the campus point person for CUNY Beyond data and collaborate with the OCIP Senior Advisor for Data and Impact to track, measure, and report on implementation and outcomes accurately and on schedule for CUNY Beyond and related grants and initiatives.

Develop and maintain integrated data systems, pipelines, documentation, dashboards, and standardized reports to track key performance indicators related to student career-success and to the College’s career and industry partnership operations. Partner with campus and CUNY Central technology teams to configure student information systems, customer relationship management systems, and other platforms to capture required data and produce reliable outcomes reporting.

Establish baseline measures and monitor progress toward the College’s 2030 career-success targets, including internship growth, employer recruitment, and first-destination outcomes. Disaggregate data by student characteristics to identify and help address equity gaps.

Design and administer graduate outcomes data-collection activities including first-destination surveys, employment verification, and integration of external data sources (e.g. wage-record matches and National Clearing House data), and use that data to analyze graduate earnings, employment continuity and career mobility.

Monitor and analyze regional and national labor-market information from sources such as Lightcast, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and NYS Department of Labor; use that data to identify high-demand occupations, skills, and credentials relevant to QCC's academic portfolio; and prepare recurring labor-market briefs and program analyses based on those findings.

Collaborate with academic departments, curriculum committees, and College leadership to collect and validate student career-success data and to incorporate labor-market and career-outcomes evidence into program development, feasibility studies, program review, and accreditation documentation.

Translate complex quantitative findings into accessible visualizations, briefs, presentations, and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences and support data literacy and improved data practices across the College.

Conduct ad hoc analyses, design surveys, and evaluate career-connected learning initiatives, including internships, apprenticeships, and employer-in-the-classroom models.
