Program Director at The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley

The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in South Bend, Indiana, serving as a central resource for the Jewish community of St. Joseph and Elkhart counties in Indiana and Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan. The Program Director develops, leads, and evaluates a diverse portfolio of Jewish educational, cultural, social, and community-building programs, building relationships through program development in response to communal needs with a focus on deeper Jewish engagement. The role reports to the Executive Director and works in coordination with committees, board leadership, Jewish and interfaith partners, and donors. Responsibilities: • Lead and develop programming across Federation priority areas, which may include Jewish identity, youth and young adults, older adults, wellness, Israel engagement, combating antisemitism, interfaith relations, and volunteerism • Work directly with programming committees to advance initiatives based on key goals • Assess community interests, needs, and participation trends through relationship-building, participant feedback, surveys, and consultation with staff and lay leadership • Establish measurable goals and evaluate participation, community impact, engagement outcomes, and financial performance • Coordinate with key partners including Partnership2Gether, interfaith communities, and the Forever Learning Institute • Recruit, engage, and support volunteers and lay leaders in planning and delivering programs • Develop and manage program budgets in coordination with the Executive Director Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written • Working knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, holidays, and communal life • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines • Ability to work evenings and weekends as events or meetings require • Program or departmental budget oversight, fundraising knowledge, and prior Jewish or community nonprofit experience preferred Compensation: Full-time, non-exempt, with a competitive wage commensurate with qualifications and experience.
