Deputy Director at The Greater Miami Jewish Federation

The Deputy Director of the Office of Community Security (OCS) is a senior leadership position responsible for helping lead the Greater Miami Jewish Federation's community-wide security strategy and operations. Reporting to the Director of Community Security, the Deputy Director serves as a key strategic and operational partner and helps ensure the effective delivery of security services, preparedness initiatives, threat intelligence, training, risk assessments, and emergency response across Miami-Dade County's Jewish community. This is a community security leadership position rather than a traditional security guard or physical security supervisor role. Candidates with significant experience in law enforcement, military service, homeland security, emergency management, intelligence, or public safety who are interested in applying their expertise in a mission-driven community environment are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: • Serve as the Director's principal deputy, providing day-to-day operational leadership for the Office of Community Security • Conduct Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessments for Jewish institutions and recommend risk-mitigation strategies • Develop and facilitate security training programs on active threat response, situational awareness, and crisis response • Serve as a trusted security advisor to executives, clergy, school leaders, and security committees • Support and, when appropriate, lead OCS coordination during emergencies, major community events, and periods of elevated threat • Build relationships with law enforcement, emergency management officials, and national security organizations Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Military Science, or a related field preferred • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible leadership or operational experience in law enforcement, military service, homeland security, emergency management, intelligence, or public safety • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check • Regular travel throughout Miami-Dade County; occasional evening and weekend work required Salary: $95,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications To Apply: Please submit your resume to [email protected]
