Job description

Senior QA Engineer

Level: Senior Individual Contributor | Department: Technology | Reports to: Technical Lead
Location: Remote | Timezone: Overlap required with Israel and US Eastern time

About the Role
Alteva RCM is building a dedicated quality function for a high-impact operational technology team. This is a foundational QA position, and the person in this role will help define how quality works here, not inherit a process someone else built.

You’ll be embedded across a mix of Salesforce-native tools, AI-assisted workflows, and backend services, all actively in build. The work spans Salesforce sandbox environments, production validation workflows, .NET-based services, and AI-generated outputs where accuracy and consistency are important.

This is a hybrid manual and automation QA role. In the beginning, a meaningful part of the work will be hands-on manual testing, workflow validation, and release readiness checks while the automation framework is being built. Over time, the expectation is to convert repeatable testing into automated coverage so managers and operations leads are not carrying the burden of release testing.

The expectation is not just to find bugs. It is to build the systems that prevent them: test coverage, regression frameworks, automation runs, release gates, and clear release-readiness signals. This person should be trusted by both operations and development to say when something is ready to ship and when it is not.

What You’ll Do:

Own test strategy and test case development across the internal product portfolio
Design and maintain testing layers: smoke, happy path, regression, and release-readiness testing, mapped to release stages
Set up and maintain automated test runs, including nightly checks where appropriate, to catch issues before business users do
Build and maintain automation frameworks from scratch, with no existing framework to inherit
Perform manual and automated testing across Salesforce sandbox environments, production validation workflows, .NET-based services, and AI tool outputs
Own QA sign-off recommendations for releases, including clear communication of release risk when coverage is incomplete
Build a QA process that shifts release testing out of managers’ hands and into a structured QA workflow with clear test cases, ownership, and sign-off
Document end-to-end business workflows and map test coverage to them
Define and enforce release gates in partnership with developers and the Technology Lead
Work directly with operations team leads to understand how workflows break in practice, not just in theory
Investigate production issues: identify root cause, document findings, and own the follow-through to prevent recurrence
Mentor and provide technical direction to the QA Engineer on the team
Contribute to building a proactive quality culture where issues are caught before business users see them

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years in QA engineering with demonstrated experience in both manual and automated testing
Experience with API testing, including REST and/or SOAP, in environments with multiple system integrations
Proficiency in SQL for validating data accuracy across system integrations
Comfortable with version control such as Git, including working alongside developers and managing test code
Salesforce experience required, with comfort in sandbox-based testing and production validation support
Strong background in building automation frameworks from scratch, not just maintaining existing ones
Experience testing AI or ML outputs is a strong plus, especially validating non-deterministic systems
Familiarity with .NET environments is a strong plus
Ability to write clear, thorough test documentation that non-technical stakeholders can understand
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with operations leads, developers, and product
Background in healthcare RCM, medical billing, or complex operational workflows is a strong plus and will accelerate ramp-up
Self-directed and comfortable operating without a mature QA playbook

Location & Availability:
This is a remote role requiring time zone overlap with two teams: our operations team in Israel and our development team in US Eastern time. You’ll need a few hours of daily overlap with each. Eastern Europe time zones work well for this, though other locations will be considered if the overlap requirement is met.

Why This Role:
You’re not walking into a mature QA org. You’re helping build one. That means more ownership, more visibility, and more direct impact than most QA roles offer. Alteva supports healthcare revenue cycle operations at scale. When something breaks, it can affect operational outcomes and business performance. Your work matters immediately.

You’ll work closely with Product Leadership and a small, focused technical team. This is a lean, high-ownership environment where decisions are made close to the work.

Tools & Environment:
Salesforce, our core case management system
.NET-based services
Azure, in use for AI tooling
Jira for task tracking
Microsoft Teams
