Position Summary
The Solutions Specialist – AVEVA PI will join the InSource Services team to support industrial software implementations across the United States and Canada.
This role is ideal for a mid-level AVEVA PI professional with solid hands-on experience who is ready to expand their technical depth while working in real-world manufacturing environments. The Solutions Specialist will configure and deploy AVEVA PI solutions, support system integrations and industrial data connectivity, troubleshoot and optimize existing client environments, and contribute to successful project delivery from requirements through implementation.
Working as part of a collaborative project team, this role will provide exposure to a wide range of industrial applications and technologies while creating opportunities to take on increasing technical responsibility over time.
Success in this role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, effective client communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
AVEVA PI Implementation: Install, configure, deploy, and support AVEVA PI solutions, including PI Server and Asset Framework (AF), in client manufacturing and industrial environments.
AVEVA Platform Configuration: Install, configure, and support AVEVA System Platform components, including Application Server, Historian, InTouch, and OMI, as required by project scope.
Industrial Connectivity and Integration: Configure and support industrial connectivity components and assist with data integrations between plant-floor systems and enterprise reporting platforms.
Requirements and System Configuration: Support requirements gathering and scope clarification and translate defined business and technical requirements into functional system configurations.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to support reliable and effective system operation.
Technical Documentation: Document system configurations, integration details, deployment steps, and other technical information required for successful project delivery and ongoing support.
Client Collaboration: Participate in client meetings, discovery sessions, and technical working sessions. Communicate directly with client stakeholders as part of project delivery and provide responsive technical support throughout implementation.
Solution Design Support: Collaborate with senior technical team members on solution architecture and design decisions and contribute technical input based on client requirements and existing environments.
Project Delivery Support: Work collaboratively with project teams to support successful delivery from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and implementation.
Technical Development: Expand expertise across AVEVA technologies and complementary industrial systems while developing toward increased ownership of technical solutions and projects over time.
Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal technical knowledge sharing, documentation, lessons learned, and team development.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including OPC, MQTT, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP (ABCIP).
Experience working in Windows Server environments.
General knowledge of networking, virtual server environments, and cloud-hosting technologies is preferred.
Ability to perform system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Ability to create clear and accurate technical configuration and deployment documentation.
Strong willingness to continuously develop technical expertise across AVEVA and complementary industrial technologies.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with AVEVA PI.
Experience working with AVEVA PI Server and Asset Framework (AF).
Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Experience with Windows Server environments.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including OPC, MQTT, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP (ABCIP).
Hands-on experience with AVEVA SCADA technologies is preferred.
Experience with AVEVA System Platform, Historian, InTouch, or OMI is preferred.
SQL Server experience is preferred.
Experience with the AVEVA CONNECT platform is preferred.
Experience supporting software deployments within manufacturing environments is preferred.
General networking, virtualization, and cloud-hosting experience is preferred.
Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada to client manufacturing facilities. The source material indicates approximately 30%–50% travel.
