About the role..
As an Area Sales Manager, you will manage and grow key customer relationships across your region, building long-term partnerships by understanding customer needs and delivering the right solutions.
You’ll combine strong relationship management with proactive new business development, identifying opportunities to drive sales and contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.
What you'll be doing
Managing a region which will be set out by your US President of Sales.
Act as the main point of contact between the client and the company, understanding their needs, objectives and challenges. You will focus on face-to-face appointments.
Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients.
Arrange 20 quality face to face appointments per month with key decision makers.
Arrange and attend quality face to face appointments, managing travel and time efficently, travel will be a few days at a time and 2 - 3 weeks out of 4.
Follow up on every opportunity within a timeframe of 48 hours with the support of the wider sales team.
Develop and nurture strong relatinships and make contact on a monthly basis.
Keep top level contacts informed of new products within a two-week deadline of the launch date.
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
Able to review data and advise on strategic approaches for the area, on how to maximise sales.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products or services.
Owning big projects and ensuring a strategy is in place for each.
Strive to meet or exceed your key performance indicators (KPIs).
Have a thorough understanding on our products and able to sell confidently.
Create account plans detailing the client's business and growth potential, ensuring that that you align the company's offerings with the client's needs and goals.
Effectively communicate the value proposition of Pineapple's products or services.
Keep clients informed about new developments or enhancements.
Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements.
Close deals and finalise contracts with clients.
Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure a seamless client experience and resolve any issues.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions. Using market knowledge to identify new business opportunities.
Gather and relay customer feedback to the relevant departments within Pineapple for continuous improvement.
Develop strategies to retain clients and prevent churn.
Proactively identify opportunities for renewals or extensions.
Any other ad hoc duties as required by the business.
Requirements
What we're looking for
A background in business development, account management or commercial sales.
A strong sales-driven mindset, with the ability to nurture and grow existing relationships while being hungry to win new business.
A clean driving licence.
Willingness to travel regularly, sometimes at short notice, and stay away overnight when required. You can expect to be out with customers around 2 - 3 days per week.
A natural ability to spot new opportunities and turn them into sales.
Confident, approachable and comfortable presenting to clients and senior stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy sales pipeline and follow up opportunities effectively.
Confident using CRM systems and sales data to manage accounts and identify opportunities.
Comfortable working to targets, KPIs and tight deadlines.
Highly self-motivated, proactive and driven to achieve results.
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of what drives profitable growth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
