Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with marketing and software teams to understand the requirements on new products.
Perform schematics and PCB layout design, PCBA bring-up and validation. Conduct schematic design, PCB layout, and component selection.
Analyze and optimize existing products using AI-assisted simulation and design tools to improve performance and reduce development cycle time.
Work with procurement team on material buying and BOM optimization. Work with suppliers and manufacturers to support prototyping and mass production.
Design and develop circuit boards, embedded systems, and electronic components; leverage AI-driven EDA tools and generative design workflows to accelerate design iterations and improve quality.
Set up test environments, wiring, and meter configurations; perform comprehensive hardware verification testing of meters, sensors, connectors, and related equipment.
Conduct functional and performance testing under various operating conditions using laboratory instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, data loggers, CMC256plus, and WECO4330.
Use oscilloscopes to analyze signal quality and performance for communication protocols including UART, SPI, Modbus, BACnet, and DNP3; test and validate HMI-related issues.
Investigate and evaluate AI-driven design tools (e.g., AI-assisted schematic generation, automated test script generation, predictive failure analysis) to continuously improve R&D efficiency.
Collaborate with firmware/software engineers to optimize hardware-software integration. Develop and maintain hardware design documentation, including specifications, test reports, and design files.
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting for hardware-related issues; maintain and organize lab equipment and test environment.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications (e.g., IPC-A-610, UL, CSA, IEC, CE, FCC, RoHS).
Collaborate with other teams to provide technical support, share expertise, and contribute to cross-functional projects.
Assist in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and optimizing workflows to improve overall team efficiency.
Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, reports, and guidelines to ensure clear communication and knowledge sharing.

Other duties as assigned.
Ensure Occupational Health and Safety compliance with health and safety laws and regulations.
Follow all procedures in compliance of Accuenergy (Canada) Inc standard policy and operation regulations.
Any other operation-related responsibilities may be added as company continues to grow.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
Must be experienced with switch mode power supply (AC to DC system design and validation).
Proficiency with Altium Designer – schematic capture, PCB layout, symbol and footprint creation, and generating manufacturing files.
Proven experience in hardware testing; strong proficiency with laboratory instruments including power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers, CMC256plus, and WECO4330.
Design experience with SMPS (AC-DC, DC-DC), microcontrollers, FPGA, processors (e.g. NXP iMX6, iMX8), mixed-signal, signal conditioner, op-amp and filters.
Knowledge of electrical circuits, signal processing, communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet), and data acquisition techniques.
Design experience with EMC/EMI mitigation (e.i. Surge, EFT, ESD).
Skilled in hand soldering.
Excellent documentation and communication skills to drive issues through cross functional teams.
