Job description

The Position
We are seeking a personable, highly organized and detail-oriented Clergy & Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our clergy and coordinate lifecycle events and other congregational activities. This position is an important point of contact for congregants, often during some of the most meaningful moments in their lives. The successful candidate will combine excellent organizational skills with compassion, discretion and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Manage clergy calendars, appointments, meetings and scheduling.
Provide administrative support for worship, holidays, pastoral care, lifecycle events and synagogue programs.
Coordinate lifecycle events from initial scheduling through the ceremony, serving as a primary administrative contact for families.
Prepare honors lists, Shabbat materials, lifecycle communications, forms and ceremony materials.
Maintain yahrzeit, healing and other clergy-related records.
Respond to congregant phone calls, emails and inquiries with warmth and professionalism.
Maintain confidential records and handle sensitive pastoral and congregational information with discretion.
Work collaboratively with clergy, staff, families and volunteers to ensure excellent follow-through and a welcoming congregant experience.

What We're Looking For
At least 2-3 years of administrative, office, customer service or coordination experience.
Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Warm, patient and professional interpersonal skills.
Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and standard office technology.
Database/CRM experience; ShulCloud experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Jewish holidays, traditions, Hebrew and synagogue life is strongly preferred but not required

Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, primarily in person, with occasional evening or weekend flexibility for holidays, worship and lifecycle needs.
Salary: $40,000-$48,000 annually, based on experience.
