Position Summary:

The Director of Data Management serves as the School of Nursing's lead administrator for data analytics, reporting, compliance, and institutional effectiveness. Working closely with the Dean and academic leadership, this position oversees the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of data related to student success, faculty productivity, program outcomes, accreditation, and regulatory compliance. The Director transforms complex data into actionable insights that support strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, accreditation activities, and evidence-based decision-making across the School of Nursing.

Responsibilities:

Accreditation, Compliance, and Regulatory Reporting
Manage data collection and reporting processes required for accreditation, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Prepare and submit reports for organizations including the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and other regulatory bodies.
Monitor program outcomes, including retention, graduation, licensure and certification pass rates, employment outcomes, and student learning outcomes.
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of institutional data in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and university policies.
Maintain and validate data reported on School of Nursing websites, publications, and external reports.

Data Analytics and Strategic Decision Support

Develop dashboards, reports, and performance metrics that support academic and operational decision-making.
Analyze trends related to enrollment, retention, progression, graduation, licensure outcomes, faculty workload, and resource utilization.
Provide data analyses and reports to support strategic planning, budgeting, program development, and growth initiatives.
Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.

Data Systems Management

Oversee the integration and management of institutional and program-specific data systems.
Coordinate data collection, validation, and reporting across academic and administrative departments.
Develop efficient processes for data entry, retrieval, analysis, and reporting.
Maintain data dictionaries, reporting procedures, and documentation standards.
Evaluate and implement technologies that enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.

Training and Collaboration
Serve as a resource to faculty and staff on data reporting requirements, dashboards, and data management practices.
Provide training and support related to data systems and reporting tools.
Collaborate with university offices including Institutional Research, Information Technology, Admissions, Registrar, Finance, and Academic Affairs to ensure data quality and consistency.

Requirements
Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, Public Health, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in data management, institutional research, business intelligence, or analytics.
Demonstrated experience managing complex datasets and producing reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in a related field.
Experience in higher education, healthcare, or nursing education.
Knowledge of accreditation standards, outcomes assessment, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience supporting accreditation reviews and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
