Job description
This is an NBN Connect post on behalf of another organization.
Teach psychology on your own schedule, with no commute, prep or rigid lecture schedules. Just teaching in its purest form: expert feedback and academic guidance.
An accredited online college serving the Jewish community, built on a self-paced model where students progress on their own timeline and faculty work on theirs. Every course is fully developed before you arrive. Your role is the human one; to give substantive feedback, academic guidance, and expert judgment.
Every course is a full learning experience with varied resources where students read, watch, listen, and engage, with educational technology woven throughout. Authentic assessments give the work meaning: students learn by doing and work until they master the material, and your guidance is what gets them there. As a facilitator, you are the source of their success.
Because the role is remote, flexible, and scales with the courses you take on, it works exceptionally well as a second income alongside a clinical practice, another faculty position, or research; the hours are yours to schedule.
We are growing, and strong facilitators grow with us. Facilitators who excel are first in line for expanded roles, developing new courses, taking on additional courses, and facilitating graduate-level courses as our programs scale.
What you’ll do
As a facilitator, you are the human presence in the online classroom:
- Grade student work with comprehensive, constructive feedback within 48 hours
- Respond to student emails within 24 hours in a professional and supportive manner
- Moderate the discussion board, responding to every student post
- Set 2 hours of weekly virtual office hours at fixed times; students book slots in advance, and if no slots are booked, no session is held
- Record a 1–2 minute welcome video introducing yourself to your students
You’ll also complete periodic professional development, meet with administrators as needed, and coordinate with departments such as student services and the registrar to support student success.
Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD in Psychology (required)
- Experience teaching in higher education (required)
- Strong technology skills; passion for technology-enhanced learning
- Experience with learning management systems a plus
Details
- Fully remote with very flexible hours – work when it suits you, within the response-time commitments above
