Job description

Description

This is a remote position.

Who We Are:

NCSY, a program of the Orthodox Union, connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY inspires Jewish teens through informal Jewish education, retreats, and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal.

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for people with disabilities, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, , is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary:

NCSY is seeking a creative, energetic, and highly organized Social Media & Digital Engagement Associate to help tell the story of our movement, further educate and deepen our connection with the tens of thousands of teens, families, alumni, donors, educators, and community partners who engage with our work.

The Social Media & Digital Engagement Associate will create, curate, and publish compelling, high-level content across our social media platforms, while helping build a strong, consistent, and engaging digital presence for both JSU and NCSY.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Gather photos, videos, stories, testimonials, and other content from JSU and NCSY programs across the organization.
  • Create engaging social media content, including graphics, short-form video, reels, stories, captions, and posts.
  • Identify powerful stories that demonstrate the impact of JSU and NCSY on Jewish teens and communities.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline and calendar of upcoming content.
  • Help ensure that content reflects the energy, diversity, scope, and impact of the JSU and NCSY movement.

Strategy Execution & Development

  • Execute the organization's existing social media and digital engagement strategy consistently and with excellence.
  • Translate strategic priorities into an effective day-to-day content calendar and posting rhythm.
  • Learn what is working through both analytics and ongoing interaction with our audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen, refine, and expand the existing strategy.
  • Bring forward thoughtful recommendations regarding content, platforms, campaigns, trends, and new opportunities for engagement.

Social Media Management

  • Manage regular posting across relevant JSU and NCSY social media channels.
  • Monitor comments, direct messages, tags, mentions, and other interactions.
  • Respond appropriately and promptly, helping followers experience JSU and NCSY as responsive, welcoming, and genuinely interested in connection.
  • Identify opportunities to join relevant conversations and amplify important moments.
  • Maintain a consistent organizational voice while tailoring content appropriately for different platforms and audiences.

Audience & Community Building

  • Help grow JSU and NCSY's social media audiences and overall digital reach.
  • Develop content intentionally designed for our different audiences, including teens, parents and families, alumni, donors, educators, community partners, and the broader Jewish community.
  • Help transform social media followers into a more deeply connected community.
  • Explore opportunities to move digital engagement toward meaningful real-world connection with JSU, NCSY, and Jewish life.

Organizational Collaboration

  • Build relationships with staff throughout the organization so that exciting programs, meaningful moments, and powerful stories are consistently captured and shared.
  • Proactively seek out content rather than simply waiting for content to be submitted.
  • Work with organizational leadership and relevant teams to ensure messaging reflects JSU and NCSY's mission, values, voice, and priorities.
  • Support major campaigns, events, summer programs, organizational initiatives, and important moments throughout the Jewish calendar.

Analytics & Growth

  • Track key social media metrics, including reach, engagement, follower growth, video performance, and audience interaction.
  • Identify which content and platforms are performing particularly well and use those insights to improve future work.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations for strengthening JSU and NCSY's digital presence.
  • Help establish a culture of learning, experimentation, and continual improvement.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.

Health, Dental & Vision Insurance:
The OU offers health insurance through an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA). Instead of a single group plan, employees have the freedom to choose their own health insurance plan that fits their personal and family needs. The OU contributes a generous monthly amount directly toward your premium, making coverage more flexible, affordable, and tailored to you.

Employees enrolled in our health plan also receive an annual BeniComp stipend, a supplemental benefit that reimburses eligible medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and vision expenses.

In addition, the OU offers employees group dental and vision insurance through MetLife.

Additional Benefits and Perks:

  • 10 paid sick days
  • 10-15 paid vacation days
  • Paid Jewish and Federal holidays
  • Short Fridays to accommodate for Sabbath observance
  • Free life and disability insurance
