Grants Officer – Jewish Education at Confidential Employer

**The Opportunity** A major private philanthropic foundation with a longstanding commitment to strengthening Jewish life and creating meaningful impact in the United States and Israel is building a new grantmaking team and seeking an experienced Grants Officer focused on Jewish education in the United States, with responsibility for a portfolio that includes day schools, camps, youth serving educational programs and other initiatives that advance Jewish learning and engagement. This is a newly created position reporting to the Executive Vice President of Grants. The Grants Officer will bring broad knowledge of Jewish education to a major philanthropic institution and help identify, evaluate, and support opportunities across a diverse portfolio. **About the Foundation** For nearly three decades, this leading private philanthropic foundation has helped shape a vibrant Jewish future in the United States and Israel. Across these areas, the Foundation seeks to translate vision into action and philanthropy into scalable, lasting impact. **What You'll Do** • Remain current on developments, trends, research, and emerging opportunities in the field of Jewish education. • Identify opportunities for philanthropic investment within the Jewish community. • Build relationships with organizations and leaders across the Jewish education ecosystem. • Assess opportunities across multiple modalities of Jewish learning and engagement, including day schools, camps, youth programs, Israel experiences, and other formal and informal educational settings. • Review proposals and participate in the due diligence processes. • Monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements. • Prepare reports and recommendations for the Board and/or Board committees. • Collaborate closely with the finance office, legal department, and colleagues across the grants team. • Bring strategic thinking, sound judgment, and broad field knowledge to philanthropic decision-making. • Perform other duties as assigned. **What You'll Bring** • At least five years of full-time professional experience. • Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred. • Broad knowledge of Jewish education in the United States, including Jewish day schools. • Knowledge of Jewish camps and their role in advancing Jewish education, engagement, and identity development. • Familiarity with programs serving Jewish teens, college students, and young adults, including educational experiences in Israel. • Understanding of synagogue movements and synagogue-based educational programs. • Ability to assess organizations, programs, and philanthropic investment opportunities using sound field knowledge, analytical judgment, and an understanding of philanthropic strategy. • Experience in grant development, due diligence, monitoring/reporting, analysis, and impact/outcomes assessment. • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills. • Familiarity with data management practices and metadata standards. • Knowledge of cultural heritage preservation, archives, museums, and the arts is a plus. • Desire and willingness to work collaboratively. **Why Join the Team?** This is an opportunity for a Jewish education professional to bring broad field knowledge into philanthropic decision-making while being part of a new team of grant makers driving major impact on the national and global scales.
