Grants Officer – Safety Net at Confidential Employer

**The Opportunity** A major private philanthropic foundation with a longstanding commitment to strengthening Jewish life and creating meaningful impact in the United States and Israel is building a new grantmaking team and seeking an experienced Grants Officer focused on Safety Net initiatives. This is a newly created position reporting to the Executive Vice President of Grants. The Grants Officer will bring expertise in human services, philanthropy, and community needs by focusing on advancing opportunities to support older adults, individuals with disabilities, and people experiencing food insecurity within the Jewish community in the United States. **About the Foundation** For nearly three decades, this leading private philanthropic foundation has helped shape a vibrant Jewish future in the United States and Israel. Across these areas, the Foundation seeks to translate vision into action and philanthropy into scalable, lasting impact. **What You'll Do** • Monitor trends, research, emerging needs, and promising approaches in disability, aging, and food insecurity. • Identify philanthropic investment opportunities within the Jewish community in alignment with Foundation priorities. • Analyze community needs, service gaps, and effective models for reaching underserved populations and improving access. • Evaluate organizations, programs, and funding opportunities against Foundation priorities. • Build relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders. • Review proposals and participate in the due diligence processes. • Monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements. • Prepare reports and recommendations for the Board and/or Board committees. • Collaborate closely with the finance office, legal department, and colleagues across the grants team. • Apply sound judgment and human services expertise to philanthropic decisions. • Perform other duties as assigned. **What You'll Bring** • At least five years of full-time professional experience. • Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred. • Knowledge of disability, aging, and/or food insecurity sectors in the United States. • Ability to assess organizations, programs, and philanthropic investment opportunities using strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and an understanding of philanthropic strategy. • Experience in grant development, due diligence, monitoring/reporting, and portfolio analysis. • Strong strategic thinking, project management, communication, and relationship-building skills. • Experience with grants management systems, data management practices, and metadata standards. • Desire and willingness to work collaboratively. **Why Join the Team?** This is an opportunity to bring human-services expertise directly into philanthropic decision-making while being part of a new team of grant makers driving major impact on the national and global scales.
