Senior Director of Events and Programming at American Jewish University

American Jewish University's Simi Valley campus spans over 2,700 acres of rolling hills and is home to the iconic Brandeis-Bardin Campus (BBC), a premier venue for social and corporate functions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this on-site role drives the strategic growth, financial performance, and operational excellence of the BBC event business, overseeing business development, sales, client experience, hospitality operations, budgeting, and team leadership. Responsibilities: • Develop and execute the annual business development and event revenue strategy for BBC • Identify and cultivate new corporate, nonprofit, production, retreat, and special event clients, and build partnerships that increase year-round campus utilization • Lead all sales and marketing efforts, develop pricing strategies, and personally lead negotiations for high-value contracts • Develop and manage the annual department operating budget, monitor monthly performance, and prepare forecasts for executive leadership • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing events and hospitality team • Ensure operational excellence from contract execution through post-event evaluation, collaborating with Facilities, Camp, Programming, Security, and Food Service Qualifications: • 8-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, event management, venue management, or business development • Demonstrated success leading revenue-producing operations and managing multi-million-dollar budgets • Proven record of increasing revenue through strategic sales and partnerships • Excellent executive communication and negotiation skills • Valid driver's license required; must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
