Job description
HLA2 is part of a small group of schools run by Hebrew Public: Charter Schools for Global Citizens. We are NOT a religious or Jewish organization (we know the word Hebrew can be confusing in that regard). We ARE a network of public charter schools that help children become global citizens who are great problem solvers, aware communicators, and lifelong learners. We are seeking a driven Afterschool Counselor that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew. **Pay:** $20-$25/hour **Schedule:** Mondays-Thursdays 2:00PM-6:00PM, also flexible for Fridays 7:30AM-1:30PM Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise students in arts and crafts, sports, homework assistance, and enrichment projects • Design and implement age-appropriate activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and learning • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants • Monitor student behavior, provide guidance, and address challenges with care and professionalism • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and track attendance Qualifications: • High School Diploma from an accredited institution is required • Elementary and/or Middle School teaching experience preferred • NYS certification in content area or working towards certification is preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) • Legally authorized to work in the USA Benefits: Mental health resources and employee assistance programs, student loan counseling, discounts on wellness programs and gym memberships, access to workshops and ongoing professional development, and opportunities for global travel experiences.
