Job description

From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture, or gender identity. Programs span behavioral and mental health, child welfare and adoption, family support, job and employment transition, housing, food, transportation, and home care assistance for the elderly. The Case Manager is a non-exempt position responsible for direct case management services to children, birth families, foster families, and primary caregivers — ensuring they receive services appropriate to their needs and continuity of care focused on resolving or preventing child abuse or neglect. The role provides assessment, planning, coordination, and advocacy while maintaining positive working relationships with all parties. Responsibilities: • Identify strengths, limitations, risk factors, and needs, and coordinate services for the child, primary caregiver, and other case participants • Maintain face-to-face contact with children and other parties as required by state law, funder requirements, and program policy • Notify all parties of court dates, staffings, and required meetings and ensure attendance with proper documentation • Transport and supervise children and case participants, including individuals with medical and behavioral health needs • Provide support, training, and crisis intervention to foster parents, birth parents, and other team members to ensure child safety and well-being • Participate in the on-call rotation and maintain client confidentiality in accordance with policy and federal and state statutes Requirements: • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field — Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Special Education, Education, Human Development, Child Development, Family Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Nursing • Or an Associate's degree (or 60+ college credits) plus two years of full-time social work or human services experience • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance; must be able to use a personal car to transport clients • Must pass background screening including drug screening, motor vehicle checks, and Florida Care Provider Clearinghouse fingerprinting Salary: $49,500 entry level (non-certified Case Manager); $51,500 with one year of experience as a certified Case Manager; $53,500 with three or more years as a certified Case Manager.
