Job description

Founded in 1875, Hebrew Union College is North America's leading institution of higher Jewish education and the center for professional leadership development of Reform Judaism. With campuses in Cincinnati, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, and New York, HUC educates rabbis, cantors, Jewish educators, nonprofit leaders, and scholars while advancing Jewish scholarship worldwide. This position provides high-level administrative support to the Dean of the College (approximately 50% of time) while also supporting the College's Institutional Advancement and Development efforts (approximately 50%). The role requires strong organizational skills, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to move fluidly between executive support and development functions. Responsibilities: • Manage the Dean's calendar, meetings, appointments, and travel; serve as the primary point of contact for the Dean's office • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, and meeting materials; process expense reports and reimbursements • Manage campus meetings and events — annual retreat, guest lectures, co-curricular and study days, outside speakers, orientation, and holiday events — including invitations, RSVPs, room reservations, catering, and facilities coordination • Support visits and sessions by HUC international directors and staff on the LA campus, and maintain partnerships with USC, regional synagogues and agencies, and internal HUC departments • Assist advancement officers with donor research, prospect tracking, and briefing materials • Support planning and execution of fundraising and cultivation events, alumni gatherings, and donor receptions • Maintain donor database records, assist with gift processing, acknowledgment letters, and stewardship correspondence • Support grant proposals, case statements, and fundraising collateral, and help track progress toward fundraising goals Salary: $70,000–$76,000 annually.
