Job description
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides advanced administrative and operational support to the Scottsdale Police Department Training Unit. Responsibilities include coordinating training programs and schedules, maintaining training records and databases, preparing reports and correspondence, processing purchasing and budget documentation, coordinating with department personnel and outside vendors, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Training Unit. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced public safety environment.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $32.58/hour or $67,766.40/annually.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
A High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
Four years in an administrative support position to include customer service / public contact experience.
Preferred: some college coursework.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required for some positions depending on department/section assignment.
Essential Functions
Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
Coordinates completion of technical and administrative reports, meeting minutes, and other management related reports.
Prepares accurate annual financial reports using document publishing software. Coordinates printing and distribution of final document.
Coordinates day-to-day business operations for office including serving as first point of contact for customers by phone and in-person.
Listens and communicates effectively with internal and external customers.
Ensures timely documentation and imposed deadlines are met.
Provides quality customer service in the course of professional duties and responsibilities.
Operates a computer and utilizes relevant business software applications and applicable databases.
