Job Summary
Specializing in quantitative methods and psychology, teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, research methodology and cognitive science. Supervise, advise, and mentor students in data analysis and cognitive science classes, which will cover the university’s core-curriculum as well as upper-level elective courses. Read, interpret, and conduct research on how humans make decisions, with an emphasis on using brain analysis techniques and computational approaches to understand behavior and apply findings to mental health, education and national security. Stay abreast of new developments and theories within the statistical, methodological, and cognitive fields and incorporate them into teaching. Meet with undergraduate and graduate students outside of the classroom as necessary to provide them with additional instruction and tutoring. Serve as an advisor to students, helping them ensure that they are satisfying the University’s curricular goals and academic requirements. Develop and prepare curriculum materials, including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional material. Work with Professors in the department to develop and improve the overall academic program of the Psychology Department. May serve on university, college, and/or departmental committees. May represent the university in off-campus professional events and serve as a member of professional associations and learned societies.

Competencies, Education, Experience
Ph.D. in Psychology or Cognitive Psychology. Applicants will be evaluated on academic qualifications, teaching background, research interests and potential expertise, and compatibility with department’s needs.
