Senior Bookkeeper | Brooklyn, NY · $80,000–$90,000


About the Role:
This role owns day-to-day accounting, banking, and treasury support for a Controller managing multiple entities and accounts. It's a hands-on position responsible for keeping reconciliations current, accounts payable moving, and cash activity organized across a fast-paced, multi-account environment.


Key Responsibilities

Banking & Treasury

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
  • Assist with daily banking activity and cash management
  • Support positive pay and other banking controls
  • Help maintain cash schedules and monitor upcoming cash requirements

Accounts Payable & Reconciliations

  • Perform credit card reconciliations and investigate missing or unsupported charges
  • Help manage Accounts Payable and ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and timely
  • Review AP aging and assist with payment scheduling
  • Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies

General Accounting & Support

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records
  • Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Maintain organized documentation for banking, AP, credit cards, and accounting transactions
  • Assist the Controller with audits, bank requests, and other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bookkeeping/accounting background
  • Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Hands-on Accounts Payable experience
  • Understanding of general ledger accounting
  • Experience with cash management or treasury functions preferred
  • Excel skills
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies independently
  • Highly organized and able to manage recurring deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple entities/accounts
