Position Overview

A rapidly growing home care organization is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to bring billing and claims operations in-house. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, takes initiative, and is eager to take ownership of billing operations.

As the company expands into multiple states, this position offers significant growth potential into a Director of Billing role, with the opportunity to build and eventually lead billing operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full medical billing and claims process, from submission through reimbursement

• Process and submit claims through EMR systems and clearinghouses

• Work with insurance payers and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)

• Follow up on outstanding, denied, and rejected claims

• Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues

• Manage accounts receivable (AR) and ensure timely reimbursement

• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation

• Take initiative in building and improving billing processes as the company grows

• Help establish scalable billing operations to support expansion into additional states

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hands-on medical billing experience

• Experience with EMR systems, clearinghouses, and claims processing

• Familiarity with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)

• Home care, nursing home, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or ABA billing experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of claims, denials, reimbursement, and AR follow-up

• Self-starter with strong initiative, ownership, and leadership potential

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
