WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Capital Markets Business Data Analytics Manager oversees analytics projects and processes, providing data-driven insights for business performance. Oversee the development and implementation of reporting strategies within Capital Markets and the broader organization that best optimizes the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering data and required analytics to fulfill reporting, analysis and other use cases to support the business goals. Responsible for developing analytical tools and reports drawing from KPIs, industry trends, and customer and bank information. Collaborating with stakeholders, the incumbent is required to understand business objectives and challenges of the Capital Markets Division, and enterprise to translate business needs into complex data-related analyses and projects to enhance business performance, decision-making, and operational efficiency within the Capital Markets Division. The Manager is required to build and manage teams skilled in data operations, statistical methods, data analysis, data risk management and ensure compliance with enterprise data risk management policy and procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Lead, manage, coach, and develop Associates and Analysts on the Capital Markets Data team, including workload allocation, performance management, establishing priorities and standards, aligned with Capital Markets business strategy
Serve as the primary point contact for Capital Markets data, analytics, and management reporting initiatives. While maintaining appropriate documentation for data sources, reporting logic, calculations, and business definitions.
Collaborate with T&I, Legal, Product Management and others to create and implement correct forms, products and services as they relate to the system application.
Drive the automation of data mining, reporting tasks, and ad hoc requests for information and analysis. Support departmental systems, databases, and other technical infrastructure. Work with Capital Markets product teams to develop and automate departmental dashboards and reporting tasks.
Develop executive level reporting that clearly identifies trends, opportunities, exceptions, and areas requiring management attention
Run queries against application databases and/or the Bank’s data warehouse and assists with the preparation of periodic or ad hoc reports for distribution to line units, senior management, risk management units (e.g. Audit, Compliance and/or Credit Risk Review) or third parties (e.g. OCC, external auditors).
Analyze departmental performance against forecasting benchmarks and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Implement new processes, systems, other initiatives to improve reporting accuracy
Continuously evaluate existing reports and eliminate, consolidate, or automate reporting that is duplicative, manual, or no longer provides business value.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
10+ years' experience in financial services / banking experience
8+ years' experience in data analysis, including experience with database extraction tools like SQL alongside Visualization and ETL tools such as Tableau and Alteryx etc.
5+ years of Management Experience
5+ years working in a financial services business line function (e.g. Capital Markets or Corporate Banking)

Additional Qualifications
Technical Skills & Tools

Extensive skill and experience using data extraction tools: SQL, Snowflake, Access, Excel, and similar data extraction/manipulation methods
Proficiency with reporting/query tools such as Brio, MS Query, MS Access, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects
Data visualization and ETL tools such as Tableau and Alteryx
Programming experience using Java Server Pages & Scripts
PC computing environments and database/data warehouse experience
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Data Management & Process Skills

Track record of developing and implementing effective repeatable processes and controls to ensure extracted data meets business needs
Experience accessing data and performing data analysis from multiple and complex sources

Business & Industry Knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of banking, client relationship management, and risk management
Working knowledge of bank back office processes and systems (preferred)
Knowledge of Capital Markets products such as FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Syndications, Trade Finance, and Supply Chain Finance (preferred)

Leadership & Communications

Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop staff
Excellent verbal and written skills sufficient to interact with all levels of colleagues
Demonstrated ability to creatively design solutions to problems with industry/business knowledge

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Compensation
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
