Laptop & Computer Buyer

An established e-commerce company is seeking an experienced Laptop & Computer Buyer to lead purchasing and assortment strategy within its growing consumer electronics category. This role will be responsible for sourcing products, negotiating with manufacturers and distributors, managing vendor relationships, and driving profitable growth across multiple e-commerce and marketplace channels.

The ideal candidate has strong experience purchasing laptops, desktops, computer accessories, or related technology products for a high-volume online retailer and understands the unique dynamics of the consumer electronics market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for laptops, desktops, monitors, and related computer products.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, authorized distributors, and sub-distributors while negotiating pricing, rebates, payment terms, inventory allocations, and promotional opportunities.
• Analyze sales trends, competitive pricing, inventory levels, and profitability to identify purchasing opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
• Manage product assortment, inventory, launches, and promotional initiatives across multiple e-commerce and marketplace channels.

Skills

• Strong vendor negotiation and relationship-management skills.

• Ability to identify profitable opportunities and respond quickly to market trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within the computer/electronics category.
• Experience working with major technology brands, distributors, and sub-distributors.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce and online marketplace retail, including channels such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Shopify.
• Experience with pricing strategy, inventory planning, vendor negotiations, and promotional programs.
